
1963年3月5日,毛泽东主席为沈阳部队某部因公牺牲的英雄战士雷锋的题词“向雷锋同志学习”在《人民日报》发表。此后,全国广泛开展学习雷锋的活动,每年的3月5日,成了我国的学雷锋纪念日。雷锋所代表的精神,也被称为雷锋精神。
雷锋精神是为共产主义而奋斗的无私奉献的精神;忠于党和人民、舍己为公、大公无私的奉献精神;立足本职、在平凡的工作中创造出不平凡业绩的“螺丝钉精神”;苦干实干、不计报酬、争做贡献的艰苦奋斗精神;归根结底就是全心全意为人民服务的精神。雷锋精神影响了后来一代一代的中国人。
