    南非外教的中国年 

    This was our first timeexperiencing Chinese New Year/Spring Festival.——From Lloyd Rooza.

    这是我们一家人在中国第一次过春节——Lloyd劳埃德（南非外教）

    In the weeks before, wenoticed in our community and all over the city that people started putting updecorations and lights in Dujiangyan. And there was a growing sense ofexcitement. We also noticed more people seemed to be in the city and everyonewas out with their whole families.

    年前，我们看到都江堰大街小巷都张贴起了喜庆的装饰，挂起了灯笼，并且能够感受到一种喜悦的氛围。同时，我们也发现市区里人好像多了起来，人们也和全家人一起外出。

    On CNY eve, we went down tothe local park and watched the amazing fireworks, and also let off some of ourown. It was so exciting for our kids, and for us adults! :) We didn't realisethat the fireworks would go on all night! It was very loud and festive. We tookso many videos and sent some to our family and friends back in South Africa.

    在除夕夜，我们到楼下的中心公园看了美丽缤纷的烟花，我们也放了一些，孩子们无比兴奋，当然我们也是。没想到的是，烟花竟然放了一晚上，很欢乐很喜庆。我们拍了很多视频发给南非的家人朋友。

    What we learned about SpringFestival is that it is a time to spend with your family (very similar to how wespend Christmas back home). The school was very generous to our family and gaveus delicious food, treats and gifts to make sure we also felt part of thecelebrations and felt 'at home'.

    我们眼中的春节就是要和家人团聚（和我们的圣诞节一样）。我工作的学校（都江堰北街小学实验外国语学校）也非常慷慨周到，他们为我们准备了丰富美味的年货和礼物，这让我们感受到了中国浓浓的节日气氛，也让我们有家的温暖。

         We learnt that everyonecleans their homes for the new year, and buys new clothes. It seems like aspecial time to start fresh and to wish and hope for good things for the yearahead while surrounded by your family.

    中国新年每家每户都在为了过年做扫除、买新衣，这感觉好像是一切从新开始，这也是期望来年美好的事物伴随家人。”
